Why os.path.isabs("/") on Windows returns True?

If you mean "the current drive letter" it's not actually true since "\
\" is used for that:

 >>> os.getcwd()
 'C:\\Python25'
 >>> os.path.realpath('\\')
 'C:\\'
 >>>
