CONNECTION TIMED OUT ERROR using urllib2

Thanks for ur reply,
yes i set the following enviroment variables (FC6 platform)
http_proxy,http_user,http_password

But i get the same error; Can u tell me which other  variables i need to set
or am i going wrong in the syntax of these
variables?
