I've recently started using Eclipse for my python projects, and I'm
pretty happy with it.
you can easily get:
  + syntax highlighting
  + code collapsing
  + code completion
  + breakpoints, etc
  + TODO: reminders
  + unit tests

and, of course, you can also use subversion with Eclipse.
  + unit tests
