I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but Python has a
special string with 3 quotes that I believe duplicates part of the
functionality of a here document:

myHmtlHeader = """
<head attribute = "abc">
<title>My Page</title>
</head>
"""

print myHtmlHeader


outputs:


<head attribute="abc">
<title>My Page</title>
</head>
