Yes, Bengt's function did the right thing on the input for that
particular problem, which involved IEEE 64-bit floating point numbers
stored in little-endian format.

The current problem involves 32-bit MBF (Microsoft Binary/Basic
Floating-point/Format) numbers.

Different problem.
