that's probably because "c:\" is a syntax error:

    "c:\"
        ^
SyntaxError: EOL while scanning single-quoted string

but since you're getting a "500 error" instead, it sure sounds like you
forgot to tell us *how* you're running your scripts... (server, platform,
python version, etc).
