Started playing with docutils and don't understand why the following
doesn't work:


>>> from docutils.core import publish_parts
>>> t = '''
...
... 1. this is a test
... #. this is another line
... #. oh, screw it!
...
... '''
>>> publish_parts ( t, writer_name = 'html' ) [ 'body' ]
u'<p>1. this is a test\n#. this is another line\n#. oh, screw it!</p>\n'
>>>


Why doesn't the above turn out an enumerated list?  It looks like all
the examples I've seen, and I've tried adding and removing blank lines
around it to no avail.
