2D graphics

Hello,
As a Python beginner, I feel a bit lost among all possible libraries... so I wondered whether soemone could help me find my way... I just need to generate animated sequences of 2D primitives (dots and lines), as fast as possible, checking the computer clock for the time elapsed for each image, and checking the mouse click.
