This message (sent to python_list) would seem to be referencing a
previous posting/message -- but it's not showing up in the newsgroup.
I've noticed a few cases in the last day or so where the first item in
a thread on the newsgroup was a reply to a message/posting that was
not in the thread. 

Is there blockage/leakage in the pipe somewhere?
