changing ethernet mac

Has anyone got a tip on how to control the source and destination ethernet
macs using python?
I am trying to test a bridge-like device.

I have  tried to use dnet and some of the other modules from Dugsong, but
without success.
I am using a win2000 os, so my options are more limited than in the *nix
world.
