Here's the example:
import gzip

# read fucked
fuckedfile = gzip.GzipFile('somefile.gz')
content = fuckedfile.read()
fuckedfile.close()

# write unfucked
unfuckedfile = file('somefile','w')
unfuckedfile.write(content)
unfuckedfile.close()

Please feel free to insert this fucking example into the fucking docs.
