solaris threading problem: interpreter hangs on shutdown

Follow-up to my own posting:
Testing shows that the python2.1 version of threading.py solves the
problem, so far.
Plus, the python2.1 threading.py is as close to the original 1.5.2 source
as it gets.
If anybody encounters the same problems, try using
threading.py from python release 2.1 lib.
(Note: You will need atexit.py, too)
