FreeBSD or OpenBSD for Python?

I can't offer any comparisons, but I have had no trouble with compiling 
or using Python on Freebsd, both compiling the official source 
distribution or from the FreeBSD ports collection.

To download, compile, and install from ports, simply:

cd /usr/ports/lang/python
sudo make install
