I meant to reply earlier.  The slimness of the pickings means if you are
adamant about using Python, you may well wind up writing Python programs for
application areas you're not particularly interested in.  I think I'd rather
find something I'm interested in then use Python where possible, like so:

As it turns out my current day job is as essentially a system administrator.
I try to turn it into an application programming job at every opportunity,
and fortunately my management doesn't really care what I use.
