Viable AND technical: nah.

Viable (forget the technical): yeah.  Managers' dreams are about
replacing costly, quirky individual human=being programmers with
die-cast, factory-made replaceable parts.  Java sort of promises that
(doesn't _deliver_, but, that's another issue;-).
