Thanks for the help. I might suggest, if anyone is listening, that this 
would be a good tidbit to include in the docs somewhere obvious. Surely 
I'm not the only person that has gotten this messed up. I am left with a 
useless but pretty nifty lil module for creating temp files, named by 
the process id, that remove themselves when Python exits. Maybe I'll 
find another use for it. Sounds like the type of thing that should have 
been in tempfile. :)
