TKinter is driving me crazy!

My advice:

Drop $50 at the local bookstore and buy a copy of Python and Tkinter
Programming.  I was in your exact shoes a couple of weeks ago, and finally
threw up my hands in disgust looking for help.  The web had little info. 
The book as good examples.  I highly recommend it.
