I did some consulting work for a large corporation and hear rumours that 
they'd had problems with GUID conflicts because their hundreds of 
testing lab machines, as well as many group/floor/department/building 
servers, were configured with something like Norton Ghost, i.e., the MAC 
address in the registry came from the machine used to create the 
ghosting image.
