Python 2.3b1 Cross Compile to a PDA?

I have an old Agenda VR3 PDA, with a linux kernel built-in. I want to create a statically linked modern python interpreter for it. Is that possible?
I simply couldn't yet figure out how to "configure" for my target (mipsel-linux-snow)
