Pyserial,Docs, tutorials, line terminators

Im having alittle trouble with pyserial and cant seem to find the normal 
documentation and or tutorials for this extension.
Im using the windows environment. and as such once the serial port is 
open the readline() is missing the /r (terminating on /n) causign all 
sorts of greif. is there a way of making the serial port function more 
windows like?
