idle on linux

Hi, 

I've tried to install idle in RedHat 8.0
Installed python tools, tcl, tk
But when I start idle at the prompt ('/usr/bin/idle') I get the following 
message:

  File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/idle/idle.py", line 3, in ?
    import PyShell
  File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/idle/PyShell.py", line 13, in ?
    from Tkinter import *
ImportError: No module named Tkinter

can anyone tell me what's wrong, and how to fix it.
