Is python good for making database work short?

I used INTRODUCTION TO SQL 3RD EDITION by Rick van der Lans ISBN 0-201-59618-0
to learn SQL.

Don't let the "INTRODUCTION" fool you, the book is very short and very thorough.

Anyway, the book explicitly states it only teahes SQL you can use anywhere.
