Please Recommend a C compiler for use with Python.

Borland's free command-line C/C++ compiler tools sounds like
what you're looking for.  It's definitely easy to install (under
10MB), unlike the big MSVC++.  Not sure if it's still around
though.  I saw info re using it to write Python C extensions
before.
