This is a great project! Seems like the next best thing to a Python CLI runtime...

One question:
Would the implementation be possible in C#, with anything that simply could not
be expressed in C# factored out into small bits of managed C++?

Reason:
If it were in C#, mono could use it (open source .NET framework, go-mono.org).
The mono project community would probably find this *very* interesting, even
at a development stage. I can imagine python-scripted unit testing, etc.
