Hi Paul
I am one of those who haved developped skills in
both python and foxpro (vfp to name it).
I use vfp 6/7 for c/s stuff with UI "à la visual basic"
and python for web development share your views
concerning the many similarities between vfp and
python :
- nice clean and highly productive interpreters,
- products have a sizable user communities
with independant, and open views on
software development.
I am very enthusiastic about your idea :)
As i'm sure you are aware of, the original
foxpro 2.x dbase-clone has evolved into vfp,
a visual integrated development tool
with a wide functional scope
(version 3.x and above) including
both local and cs data-source management
and a full set of data-driven widgets.
Do you intend to develop a foxpro 2-like
or a whole visual toolset "à la vfp" based on
qt or wxpython/wxwindows as an ui-layer?
That would be great but potentially a lot of work...
François
