OK. **PLEASE** go to comp.lang.lisp and tell them exactly
that, so you'll get tossed on your bum.  If the last Lisp/Python
thread said anything meaningfull, it was that static typeing
has nothing to do with generating efficient native code.
It helps, but it isn't the only thing.
