I don't think the suits will primarily concern copyright issues.
Rather, mostly patents.  Nothing in an ECMA/ISO standard has the power
to invalidate patents.  Heck, decades of prior knowledge, obviousness,
published standards, widespread implementation, does very little to
limit patent SUITS.

MS doesn't have to WIN on the legal grounds.  They just have to be
willing to spend more on lawyers than Ximian has to spend.  It's not
hard to get an injunction.  And an injunction stands until someone comes
up with enough money to get it overturned.
