If the election is performed online, then maybe the best method would be
approval voting with the option to change one's vote as the election
progresses (in order to better "draw the line between your approved and
disapproved candidates", in the wording of the article.)

How about a "Wiki Election<tm>"? Each voter could put his/her initials under
each approved candidate.
It would be possible to cheat, but of course true Pythonistas don't cheat
;-)
