Jeff, this is a good point.  To amplify it, consider the fact that the Red
Hat distro defaults to including Python.  IIRC, RH 8 comes with Python
2.2.1.

So your host may even have Python and not know it.  <wink>

Aside from that, there's mxCGIPython, which saved me from having to learn
Perl on a gig once.
