problem with distutils

    Hey people.

So, I'm trying to install roundup on a redhat 7.3 base, but I'm having a
problem with distutils. It's complaining that it can't find the installed
Makefile. It's right, there isn't one, and I don't understand why there should
be. Is the python2 package with redhat 7.3 broken?

distutils.errors.DistutilsPlatformError: invalid Python installation: unable
to open /usr/lib/python2.2/config/Makefile (No such file or directory)

    Thanks,
    Mike
