Thanks!  I'm not on the Tutor mailing list, and curiously enough
nobody at O'Reilly had bothered to tell me about this chapter having 
been made available online as "beta sample chapter"...;-)

I notice that the PDF you reach by following a couple of links from 
that URL, http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/pythonian/chapter/ch04.pdf ,
also includes the table of contents for the whole book.
