I like to think of it this way:

If [Perl|Python] fits your brain, use it.

Either way, you will be getting:
	- a powerful programming language
	- a huge library of code and tools
	- a great user community

Try both. Use both. Learn both.

Buy a book on each one, and at the end of reading both, decide if you've Got Religion.
