Why use Python instead of Perl?

But for many others.  

Maybe you have never heard of them but here are some
quite popular web projects written in python like
mailman, Zope, viewcvs, moinmoin, roundup, quixote, ...
Additionally python has been integrated with more web 
servers than i know of. 

So i guess it's on you to explain why python is not good 
for web development.
