creating documentation from source

Hi,

I've been looking for a way to create documentation from my source code. 
  Finally I found an URL in the python FAQ to a program called 
pythondoc, but the latest release is from 2 years ago and when I run it 
I get deprecation warnings and some error I'm not familiar with 
"unqualified exec...".

So does the python FAQ need updating or is there nothing better out there?
