WinCVS Python Install Failure

I have installed WinCVS 1.3.10 (beta build 1) onto Win2000 machine.  It
complains that I don't have Python, so I have tried installing Python 2.2.2.
I get 99% of the way through the install, then it hangs for ages and finally
reports that the install was incomplete and there is a second dialog saying
that disk may be full (it isn't!).  I have tried it both as Admin and
non-Admin installs but both result in the same error.  Anyone got any
suggestions?  Any help appreciated.
