You were asked to stop trying to install it on Windows because doing so would 
contravene the GPL.

eric works fine under Windows - but you need the commercial versions of both 
Qt and PyQt to use it on that platform. If you want to see how good an IDE 
eric is, and whether it is worth the cost, then try the GPL version first on 
Linux.
