Mac OS X, X11, Python and IDLE: keyboard shortcuts?

Greetings:

I have IDLE running in X11 find and dandy. What I'm trying to figure
out is how to get into the menus on IDLE using the keyboard. I figured
out that the Apple/splat key is used in place of Alt and CTRL really
is CTRL. Anyone know how to get to the menus in IDLE via the keyboard?

I'm using an iBook.
