I could suggest the interface defined in jonpy
(http://jonpy.sf.net/)... The low-level interface is very similar to
Java servlets and hence may be popular. There are implementations for
standard CGI, mod_python and FastCGI, and other implementations should
be entirely possible.

Is there a mailing list for this sort of thing?
