problems defining an empty list

This is what I'm trying to do:

    # empty list for lines per domain
    linesperdomain = []
    linesperdomain = [domain, domainlines]
    print linesperdomain

domainlines is also a list.

Error:

linesperdomain = []
                  ^
IndentationError: unindent does not match any outer indentation level

I've done it the same way in the same script several times before,
what's wrong here.

I don't understand this error.

Can someone help.

Thanks,
    Manuel
