Guidelines for a fresh starter

Hello World

i have no programming experience and i am interested in learning. I have
been told Python is a good place to start for it's "easy" to learn but very
powerful.
So,  i believe the best way to learn is reading a writing code but first i
have to understand what i read so i would like someone to recommend books,
url's, etc...where i can make a start.
