Tkinter/Popup: How to cascade

Hi,

I'm working on a popup menu for an application. I have two
questions

Is it (in general) possible to add a widget other than the
given command, cascade, separator to a menu

How do I intercept with mouse clicks on certain menu items,
esp. on cascading ones?
