Yes. I tried win32pipe.popen and that didn't work with the SRVANY wrapper
either.

Oops. I'm sorry. I was so dumb I supposed you were referring to the
"os.popen() won't work" part of the message of the original poster, although
it was clear that the main topic of the thread was NT services, and I should
have been more careful.
