Converting HTML to XHTML

Hi all,

there's a new problem for me. I want to convert an HTML-File to an 
XHTML-File. The first step for that would be that standalone tags get 
an / at the end. 

So my question is the following:
Are there any modules for this formatting or must I write some regular 
expressions for that?
