Python2.2 Installation

Curiously, that seems to do more than "python2 setup.py install" that I 
did before.  Thanks for your help, now I can dance the usual dance. 

Upon more investigation a comment such as "read the rest of the README, 
it's in there" would also have been appropriate.  I stopped reading at 
the end of the "platform specific notes" just before "Configuring 
threads" figuring the rest of the document didn't apply.
