IDE recommendations??

Right, I'm compiling it just now. Took me an upgrade of automake (and then a 
downgrade, because I hadn't read the instructions well enough), but it's 
working now. Last time I looked at Gideon (hasn't there been some alpha 
release at one point?), it crashed my X server when I tried to create a 
Java project. Hopefully it's better now.
