I have friends who play with MUDs every day, and half of them are into 
scripting and such for the MUDs and clients they play. I'll refer them to 
this thread so they can find out about your idea.

Besides, there's much to be learned from programming for text adventures. 
It's a good project for programming students to put some time into.
