cgidocs.py is a CGI-based Viewer for the Python 2.2 Documentation.
Features are:
- a hierarchic table-of-contents,
- an alphabetically sorted index,
- and a fulltext search engine (if installed locally)
- Freeware, open source.
for all of the python documentation, similar to what HTMLHelp for
Windows offers. It makes the HTML documentation more usable (I
believe). You can try out a version online at
http://www.p-nand-q.com/cgi-bin/cgidocs.py
You need a browser that supports frames and javascript navigation to
use it. I tested it with Konqueror, Mozilla and that other browser on
Windows.
Note that I don't know how long I can afford to keep the CGI up since
I have a server traffic limit. So, if you like it, please install it
locally (or on a mirror site). The online version does not include
grep search (although you could modify the source to do so).
