Page describing http compression with gzip.

Hi all,

I spent quite a number of hours trying to get gzip compression working
with http this week, and only finally got there with the help of
several people from this newsgroup.

Although I know all the messages will be available in the Google
Groups archive, I thought I'd write the whole thing down in a single
page, which you can find at

I'm sure someone will find it useful, and hopefully it will save
someone the numerous hours I spent on the task.
