How did TimBL's speech at Python 10 go yesterday?

The best take on it = "visionary". A less charitable take = vague,
incoherent, and disorganized. I left after half an hour.

He did talk about the "semantic net", which is the hot buzzword du
jour.

The semantic net is not a relational database, but a computerized kind
of Topic Map. Major supporting technology for the semantic web is
RDF, which is an XML format for storing subject-verb-object
statements.

I learned this stuff about the semantic web and RDF from the talk by
the two guys from 4suite.com, who are clearly very sharp and on top of
all of this stuff.
