The real crux, of course, is what you mean by "inexpensive".

www.cornerhost.com (a supplier and a customer) starts at $5 per month, but
to build extensions you'd be up at $20 per month for a shell account.
However, they are very helpful (Michal Wallace, who runs the company, posts
on this group from time to time), and understand Python well.

If it were just a matter of installing certain packages rather than
developing your own you might well find they'd do that for you even if you
were using one of the cheaper accounts.
